Description:

Service/Workshop Engineer
Salary package £31,200 + overtime at 1.5, 37.5 hour week Monday to Friday, based from BS37 Yate, pension, 25 days holiday + bank holidays, parking, life assurance, permanent role.
An opportunity to join a friendly and established Aerospace and general engineering company who are recruiting for a service/workshop engineer, mechanical engineer, field service engineer for their Yate based operation. The role will be working within a small team of mechanical fitters who work at customer sites and in the companies workshop on lifting equipment. A full driving licence is required and the role reports to the projects manager.
Key tasks for the service/workshop engineer, mechanical engineer, field service engineer
Service, maintain, repair, overhaul and test tools, jigs, fixtures, lifting and manipulating equipment
Mechanical fitting in the workshop and attending customer sites around the Somerset, Wiltshire Dorset and occasionally further a field in a company vehicle
Carry out visual inspection of the customer equipment and record any damaged or missing parts in conjunction with the customer drawing or the OEM specification.
To collate kits of parts ready for assembly (kit marshalling) and highlight any missing parts to the manager
Prepare parts ready for subcontract processes s i.e. deburring, polishing, bead blasting etc
Assemble precision components from mechanical assembly drawings, utilising a broad range of workshop tools including the use of drills, taps, measuring equipment etc
Attend on- site meetings with customers
Ensure company quality systems are adhered to
To work with managers and supervisors to implement the company’s policies and business objectives
Make a positive contribution to maintaining workplace healthy & safety
Experience & Qualifications for the service/workshop engineer, mechanical engineer, field service engineer
The role would suit an apprentice trained, City and Guilds or NVQ or equivalent level qualified mechanical engineer or fitter or a person time served by experience
Would suit someone able to demonstrate a work history with mechanical fitting or workshop and service engineering background
Able to work under own initiative when on site with good problem solving skills and a flexible approach to work, able to react to a rapidly changing environments.
Good written, oral communication and organisational skills able to convey information to customers
Knowledge of MS Office and IT systems for reporting, updating and ordering of parts
Experience of working to tight deadlines under pressure whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail on customer requirements
Full clean driving licence
Knowledge of gauges or measuring equipment is an advantage
The successful service engineer, mechanical engineer, field service engineer will be part of an established and friendly the organisation based in Yate, South Gloucestershire offering a role with variety.
