Description:

Merton College are seeking a Science Lab Technician to provide support to the School of Health, Care and Science, specialising in Human Biology.
As our Science Lab Technician, you will assist the Curriculum Manager on matters relating to the allocation, coordination and monitoring of experiments being carried out across the School. You will assist with stock control, to include chemicals, equipment and materials in the School) and record all deliveries, maintaining an accurate record of chemical orders, invoices and delivery notes.
We’re looking for someone who has experience of working in a similar environment, specialising as a Science Technician in Human Biology. You’ll have vocational qualification, technician qualifications or science qualifications at Level 3 as a minimum and be able to work effectively as a team member. With practical capability and problem solving skills, you’ll be flexible in your approach, diligent in meeting deadlines and able to work well with other staff and students.
Whilst the role is predominantly based at Merton College, we ask that you are flexible and prepared to work across all Colleges if required (Kingston College, Carshalton College and South Thames Colleges).
Subject to a cost of living review from 1 August, the successful candidate will be eligible for any subsequent increase in salary.
