Job Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity as an SGRE Direct Drive O&M Technical Support Engineer to be an important part in paving the way for Vattenfall and its customers and partners towards fossil freedom.
As DD O&M Technical Support Engineer you will become the central point of contact for all technical requests related to our D8 wind turbine offshore fleet. More specific platforms covered under Technical Support are: SGRE G4, SGRE D8, SGRE D11, Vestas V164
The Wind Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team is a team full of highly qualified experts with technical know-how. Our strategy assumes taking full control over the O&M process for these platforms, which requires a strong internal organization and central support. The approach should ultimately lead to minimize O&M downtime for the particular platforms without compromising the life time of the asset. The O&M Strategy has recently been adopted and is part of a larger improvement program within Vattenfall.
Qualifications

You will be part of a dedicated team of Technical Support Engineers and provide direct support to full control sites on technical queries related to WTG, acting as a subject matter expert for the SGRE DD platform, both on an electrical, mechanical and system software packages, with a good practical knowledge of maintenance tasks carried out on the asset.

  • Receiving technical issues via a ticketing system or Hotline call, and effectively evaluating technical requests to ensure accurate assessment and best resolution, for each situation
  • Identifying from those individual requests any potential platform issues
  • Coordinating regular meetings with site and asset management in order to prioritize technical requests in relation to all open items on the DD fleet to ensure immediate actions are taken, distributing those requests to other departments if required
  • Leading and coordinate technical requests with the OEM according to the Post Defect Notification Period support agreement; supporting the commercial manager where required on technical claims
  • Working on standardising solutions to create a library of known solutions/issues so knowledge is captured in a structured way
  • Preparing, reviewing and updating work packages including information on alarm codes, documentation, checklists, spare parts, tools, etc, to be utilised by the sites, to ensure efficient execution of maintenance tasks
  • Providing constant feedback to the Employer Requirements for future projects based on lessons learnt
  • Creating, controlling, improving and maintaining reset alarm guides to be used by our internal surveillance team
  • Creating, controlling and maintaining technical support documentation requirements for the O&M lifetime of the asset
  • Being part of internal expert operational group for the different platforms where technical knowledge is shared and captured

As our new DD O&M Technical Support Engineer you have the ability to extract core content from complex information and present it in a simple way. Furthermore, you have:

  • A technical background with a qualification in electrical and/or mechanical discipline or qualified by experience (minimum of 4 - 5 years)
  • Previous experience in troubleshooting background - preferred
  • A high degree of knowledge of the SGRE D8 platform is essential. Knowledge of other turbine platform(s) SGRE G4, SGRE D11 and/or Vestas V164 – desirable but not essential
  • Work experience in the wind industry, including technical knowledge of offshore wind farms - desirable but not essential
  • Experience in using standard office software and standard portal-based systems; SAP Plant Maintenance would be of benefit
  • Proactive attitude to see and pick-up new challenges along the way; while doing this you are aware that it is a team effort and keep everyone involved, share the knowledge and information you have
  • High energy level, a responsible and structured way of working and deliver with high quality and seek for improvements

  • Physically good condition to pass a compulsory medical exam and are comfortable with working at height during visits the turbines (GWO training)
