Description:

The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design construct Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, or trade qualified
  • White Card

EXPERIENCE:

  • Exposure to operational hard rock drill and blast or road header excavation.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role Supervising Tunnelling Construction activities and crew
  • Exposure to Drill and Blast, Road Header or TBM excavation techniques
  • Expertise working with underground excavation, ideally tunnel construction, plant technicians and support crews
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering health, safety, quality, and environmental
  • Experienced in the coordination of a team of underground workers and working closely with Tunnel Engineers.

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

To plan, organise, lead and control site operations for compliance with the construction programme ensuring consistency in terms of, and in order to ensure safety, cost, time, quality, environmental, community targets are achieved in order to safely deliver underground tunnelling works on the Snowy 2.0 project.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prime focus of the role is to complete a variety of underground structures such as:
  • The 850m deep underground power house cavern, transformer hall and tunnel adits
  • Underground access tunnels, shafts and cross passages
  • Surface civil structures, buildings and services and hydraulics
  • Manage and coordinate operational Mobile and Fixed plant Equipment for excavation works
  • Organise construction and tunnelling materials, equipment, and human logistics
  • Ensure timely progress of work according to schedule and plans
  • Driving continuous improvement of our Drill and Blast process & procedures
  • Completing post-blast reports and incident investigations as required to measure blast effectiveness & identify opportunities
  • Developing and leading Drill & Blast crews to ensure compliance to daily, weekly, and monthly mine plans
  • Working alongside Engineering team to prepare design proposals
  • Delivering weekly and monthly reporting, schedules and rosters
  • Ensuring consistent, adequate supply of equipment and materials
  • Maintain and foster a working environment which prompts safety in all that we do, whilst also providing outstanding service
