Shift Supervisor

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Reporting to the site Production Manager, you will be a key member of the factory operations team during the crushing season, providing a safe productivity leadership focus to a dedicated team of operational personnel. The Shift Supervisor is responsible for leading the shift production team in the attainment of safety, environmental and technical targets by effective and direct supervision of the processes and people. This includes the support and management of the equipment and people resources to maximise processing capability and return to the business at low unit cost.
During the maintenance season (non-crush), you will help co-ordinate and supervise safe and efficient maintenance of the plant including delivery of improvement initiatives. A detailed position description is available on request.

The preferred candidate should possess the following:

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Applied Science or Sugar Technology (preferred). Trades qualifications will be considered.
• Minimum of 3 years knowledge and understanding of industrial processing
• Demonstrated safety leadership skills.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in a Production and / or Manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work in a team, develop employees and identify improvement opportunities.
• Problem solving, proactive and energetic approach.
• Ability to work on shift on a rotating ‘lifestyle’ roster 5/4 during the crush (Jun-Dec) and day work for the rest of the year.

Preferred skills & experience:

• Experience in and knowledge of environmental management systems and processes (preferred)
• Knowledge and end experience in the operation of a raw sugar manufacturing process
• Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP
• Working understanding and knowledge of industrial operations software (SCADA)
