Description:

Reporting to the Manager of Operations, the Shift Supervisor plays a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our plant. We are seeking a passionate leader who can coordinate people and resources, clearly communicate goals, and ensure the safety of our people and plant.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • A minimum of 3 years in a supervisory/management experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience supervising in a unionized environment an asset.
  • High degree of emotional intelligence.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • The ability to utilize tools and resources to confidently and independently make difficult decisions.
  • Able to organize, set priorities and work to tight deadlines.
  • Positive, team-based attitude
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications - Word, Excel, Outlook

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Daily Operations: Oversee the manufacturing facility to meet and exceed daily production targets.
  • Leadership Excellence: Lead and mentor a team of unionized hourly employees, fostering an environment that encourages growth, engagement, and high performance.
  • Safety First: Ensure the safety of our people and plant, reporting, documenting, and addressing safety incidents promptly in accordance with company policies.
  • Process Optimization: Monitor and adjust process parameters to ensure operational control and maintain product quality.
  • Collaborative Coordination: Coordinate with maintenance and other departments to minimize downtime for repairs and maintenance.
  • Training and Development: Execute training requirements and provide ongoing coaching to enhance the skills and capabilities of team members.
  • Supervisory Coverage: Provide supervisory coverage for other areas during backshifts and weekends.
