Blau & Associates oversees the Food and Beverage operations at Parq Vancouver including the Honey Salt. Honey Salt offers a farm-to-table inspired menu serving chef-driven, farm to table cuisine, and a variety of wines and cocktails with an emphasis on locally and regionally sourced ingredients that highlight the bounty of British Columbia in an approachable and comfortable setting. POSITION OVERVIEW

The Shift Supervisor is primarily responsible for overseeing all front of the house operations including a la carte, catering/group sales and beverage functions. They will oversee all front of the house staff and work closely with the management team to ensure smooth operation of the outlet while following both company and facility policies and procedures. This position will promote the Parq Vancouver facility and act as a positive role model and representative of Blau & Associates ensuring “employer of choice” decisions. The Shift Lead continually strives for 100% guest satisfaction. This position is permanent full time; 40 hours per week; $20.00 per hour + tips. Eligible for extended health and dental benefits after passing 3 months of probationary period.
Standard 8-hour shifs for this position could be scheduled between 10am and 3am as required (scheduled shift times may vary on a weekly basis based on business needs).

QUALIFICATIONS

The Shift Supervisor must:

  • Have a minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience within similar environment including a hotel, restaurant, catering or other fast paced high-volume establishment
  • Prior experience as Shift Supervisor is an asset
  • Have valid Serving it Right and Foodsafe certificates. Certificates in mixology would be considered an asset
  • Be able to obtain and maintain a GPEB license
  • Have an excellent command of both spoken and written English. Knowledge of a 2nd language would be considered an asset
  • Have solid leadership, problem solving, decision making, customer service, communication and sales skills
  • Have detailed product knowledge and effectively handle all guest and Team Member inquiries including food and beverage suggestions, dietary, food sensitivity or allergy requirements
  • Accurately operate POS terminals, debit payment systems, Open Table and other computerized or electronic systems
  • Have strong business acumen, cost management, attention to detail and be able to multi task effectively
  • Have detailed knowledge of the Vancouver area including Parq Vancouver amenities, services and local attractions
  • Be able to stand for extended periods of time, reach, bend and stoop repeatedly and frequently lift and carry up to 44 pounds

Responsibilities:

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for:

  • Working in collaboration with other Team Members and Departments to ensure the restaurant, lounge and patio operates in accordance with established operational procedures
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction through promoting excellent customer service and responding to customer inquiries and complaints in a tactful and professional manner
  • Maintaining effective quality control for all food served
  • Analyzing staff evaluations and feedback to improve overall guest experience
  • Monitoring the physical outlet and storage areas including FF&E, inventory, cleaning and repair schedules, and placing orders for disposables and other supplies
  • Overseeing all Team Member related activities from arrival to departure including training current and new staff ensuring the adherence to established standards and assigned tasks
  • Interacting directly with guests, providing an exceptional hospitality experience
  • Maintaining a composed and professional demeanor while providing exemplary leadership and outlet representation
  • Being aware of menu items, menu and operational changes and communicating the information as applicable
  • Protecting the organization, guests, Team Members and Leaders by adhering to applicable food, liquor safety and workplace standards, operational requirements and statutory compliance regulations
  • All duties as assigned by the General Manager of the restaurant or their designated representative
