About the Role
You will work with and lead a team while being responsible for all facets of Production operations on shift.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervise, motivate, and assign responsibilities to operators to ensure production schedule targets are met
  • Ensure that all products are running within specification and designated out-put rates
  • Review of daily programs and communicate to shift extruders to meet production plan
  • Assist with the start-up of extrusion lines and any work orders for size changes
  • Ensure the shift log entries accurately reflect the shift’s daily activities in detail
  • Responsible for managing site OH&S policies & procedures including injury management and reporting
  • Communicating with all stakeholders fostering a proactive working culture and high employee morale
  • Ensure that production personnel are vigilant in the use and communication of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to avoid injury or damage arising out of poor work practice
  • Monitor casual employees and ensure they have demonstrated the competence required to work safely unsupervised when they are hired to work
  • Monitor and record all employee overtime, absenteeism and related concerns
  • Ensure production count sheets and scrap sheets are correctly completed

About You

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar shift supervisor role
  • A strong technical background
  • A motivation to be involved in continuous improvement activities
  • A demonstrated safety-first approach to work activities
  • The ability to lead and provide coaching/training to others
  • Demonstrated experience using computer systems, specifically MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills
  • Proven ability to problem solve and delegate when required
  • Demonstrated time management and organisational skills
