Maintenance Shift Technician I

In this role, you will be maintaining equipment associated with the production, packaging and distribution of Kimberly-Clark products through preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance work. The Shift Technician provides on-shift operational support across the facility. This position has an ability to effectively assess and correct unplanned equipment breakdowns to help meet facilities objectives.

In this role, you will:

  • Leverage mechanical, electrical and process skillsets to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment failures across facility equipment.
  • Provide advanced use of hand tools (taps/dies, chain breaks, mechanical pullers, etc.) including shop tool uses and safety.
  • Identify and source parts, supplies and repair items as necessary. Perform evaluations of alternatives to improve cost and / or reliability of equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical machine components and mechanical drives (gearbox, belts, sprockets, pullies, bearings, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems up to 700 volts including a basic understanding of NFPA70E guidelines for PPE and boundaries.
  • Understand and troubleshoot electrical control systems Allen Bradley PLC, electrical drives, registration loops, I/O Devices, networks, robots, vision systems, and HMI’s.
  • Understand asset theory of operation including troubleshooting process issues during upsets and returning asset to running state.
  • Lead problem solving on technical issues while reading and understanding electrical and mechanical prints.
  • Ensure all safety precautions and procedures are followed and works within the guidelines and rules of the plant.
  • May participate in continuous improvement activities.

The successful candidate will join the Equipment and Reliability team and report to the Maintenance and Reliability manager.
