Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Specialist - B to support the Motor Freight team based out of Coppell, TX.
- Knowledge of Boeing’s organizations, processes, program plans, policies and procedures, and products required to effectively perform functional responsibilities of the occupation
- Knowledge of United Parcel Service (UPS), Federal Express, DHL, and Domestic and International Express Mail processes
- Knowledge of packaging procedures for technical data (e.g., CD-ROMs, discs, web) or documents
- Ability to gather, retain, and recall a variety of facts and data in written and/or verbal form for the achievement of work tasks and duties
- Knowledge of operating procedures for packaging and material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, walking stackers, carts, dollies, box tapers)
- Ability to understand the big picture and the inter-relationships of all positions and activities in the system, including the impact of changes in one area on another area. This includes the ability to see and understand the inter-relationships between components of systems and plans, anticipate future events, and apply the principles of systems thinking to accelerate performance
- General knowledge of transportation, shipping, receiving, and storage procedures to understand and identify potential requirements and impacts (e.g., Electrostatic Discharge [ESD], hazardous material, OSHA, EHS)
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Experience working in warehouse and/or logistics operations
- Experience working with a computer based inventory management system or warehouse management system
- Ability to use warehouse equipment (including educational and operational training)
- Ability to lift, push and pull up to 35 pounds frequently within an 8 hour shift
- Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- 1+ years of experience working in warehouse and/or logistics operations
- 1+ years of experience working with a computer based inventory management system or warehouse management system
- 1+ years of experience working with warehouse equipment (including educational and operational training)
Typical Education/Experience: Related work experience, relevant military experience, or advanced degree preferred, but not required.
