GAL Manufacturing is looking to fill the position of Shipping Clerk, who under the direction of the Traffic Manager, will primarily be responsible for arranging shipments of materials, inspecting and verifying goods, and managing inventory levels of shipping materials and supplies. The Shipping Clerk must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent and prior experience in a similar role.
REQUIREMENTS
We are searching for a candidate with:
- Assist with shipping and loading of trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders, and distributing to sales associates for processing.
- Read customer work, and shipping orders to determine items to be moved, gathered, or shipped.
- Ensure the warehouse is accessible and safe
- Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate methods.
- Record amounts of materials or items shipped or distributed via appropriate computer programs.
- Assist in counting physical inventory.
- Weigh and count items for distribution within the plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
A typical day may include:
- High School diploma or GED diploma required
- Working knowledge of computers.
- Capable of physical labor (lifting, moving inventory, etc.)
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
