Description:
SHIPPING/RECEIVING CLERK I
Location: Ajax, ON
Term: Contract Position; 2 months (extendable)
Shift: 2 shift times; first shift: 7:30AM-4PM, second shift: 3:30PM-11:30PM
Pay Rate: $30.88 plus $1(for afternoon shifts)
JOB SUMMARY:
Receive on-dock supplier shipments; Enter receipts onto SAP including serial numbers as required and forward parts and paperwork accordingly; Load/unload trucks; Package and process outbound shipments to customers in a time-sensitive environment; inspect all products to ensure parts conform to paperwork and travellers; all other related duties
QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills and Core Competencies: Lifting and slinging experience; must be able to lift 50lbs on a regular basis; ability to use hand and machine tools; excellent computer & problem solving skills; self-motivated; able to multi-task & work with minimal supervision.
Education and/or Certifications: Valid Forklift license; Military Packaging knowledge and Dangerous Goods Packaging Certificate would be an asset
Work Experience: 3-5 yrs of Receiver/Shipper experience in an aerospace or related manufacturing environment
Specialized Knowledge: Understanding of US/Canada customs regulations a desired asset; Knowledge/understanding of SAP receiving/shipping system an asset
Responsibilities:
- Receive on-dock supplier shipments
- Enter receipts onto SAP including serial numbers and batch numbers as required and forward parts and paperwork accordingly
- Load/unload Trucks
- Package and process outbound shipments to customers in a time sensitive environment
- Inspect all product to ensure parts conform to paperwork and travellers
- Proven problem solving skills and experience/exposure to lean manufacturing
- Ability to use hand and machine tools
- Self-motivated
- Able to work with little or no supervision
- The ability to work shifts when required
- Proven ability to work well with others in a team environment
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal a must
- Available for both day and afternoon shift (day: 7:30-4PM, afternoon: 3:30-11:30PM)
