Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The shipping/receiving supervisor will work within the warehouse dock, cooler and freezer areas of Atlantic Beef Products and responsible for managing people and logistics in these areas. This individual will also be responsible for the coordination of operation of equipment for the shipment of various products and will ensure all work performed adheres to all organizational standards as well as safety regulations and guidelines. This includes making sure that shipping and receiving scans are timely and accurate, that cycle counts are completed and correct, as well as maintaining close contact with the Warehouse Supervisors and Sales team. This is a labor-intensive position requiring individuals to perform repetitive tasks and stand for long periods of time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-3 years of shipping/receiving supervisory experience in manufacturing industry
  • Previous experience in the meat processing environment is an asset
  • RF scanning and material handling equipment experience required
  • Forklift operating license is required (either actively licensed or willing to get certified)
  • Class 1 drivers license is an asset
  • Able to use a stand up and reach truck
  • Ability to work as a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Pre-operations inspections, operation and shutdown of all related equipment for efficient and safe operation (i.e., forklifts, counterbalance, motorized walkie, pump cart, scanners)
  • Manage and provide guidance to shipping & receiving team members, including training, scheduling, troubleshooting issues, assigning tasks to team, and performance management.
  • Receiving process materials and shipping finished goods, and inventory control
  • General housekeeping
  • Recognize and troubleshoot mechanical issues and communicate problems to Manager and/or maintenance.
  • Thorough, accurate, and neat completion of forms for HACCP and Quality Assurance (i.e., lot control for traceability, production reporting, product carry over)
  • Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures for product and packaging materials (i.e.; product rotations, FIFO procedures)
  • Participate in educational and training opportunities applicable to the position.
  • Maintain company Health and Safety policies ensuring staff adhere to PPE and accident reporting procedures
  • Manage teams schedule and approve weekly timecards in ADP
  • Other duties shall be assigned as required.
