JOB SUMMARY

The Shoe Developer innately understands the Lulus woman! This person will manage the product creation process from the initial concept to hand-off to buyer(s). Our developers collaborate daily with buying/production teams and outside vendor base. You will execute product development for this category as outlined by the Chief Merchandising Officer, with the goal of a high adoption rate by buyers while maintaining product margins and product integrity.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Research and stay up to speed on macro/emerging trends, key runway designers and influencers, aspirational benchmarks, and competitive landscape for their categories, and determine relevance through the Lulus consumer lens.
  • 365 Development to ensure an ongoing pipeline of new ideas to maximize sales trends, evolve key programs and meet the needs of the business model.
  • Operate with a complete understanding of the development process (which may include design, engineering, pre-costing, and overseas development).
  • Grow and develop Lulus branded products by proactively managing the development process including private label and exclusive styles.
  • Partner with Vendor and Buyer to ensure fabric, design details, and garments are within cost parameters while providing value to the Lulus consumer in product range and offers:
  • Lead innovation strategy work and direction with vendors for design, materials, and construction for their categories to achieve performance, margin targets, and retail pricing with an understanding of the Lulus customer.
  • Traveling to factories to expand Country of Origin and test new lasts and materials.
  • Scout new samples/vendors to recommend products to be sold on Lulus.com.
  • Coordinate and monitor prototype samples for fit, quality, execution, and construction.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors.
  • Work with Buying on weekly markdowns of slow-selling products to understand outdated trends, colors, and seasonality of the product.
  • Partner with the Planner and Buyer to achieve KPI Targets and budgets.
  • Travel as needed.
