• Leading blasting operations with precision and efficiency
• Guiding and supporting the blast crew to enhance their performance and develop their skills
• Overseeing the maintenance and safety of all blasting equipment
• Maintaining accurate records of blasting activities and inventory
• Proactively solving technical and operational issues during blasting activities
• Prioritising safety protocols and ensuring regulatory compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations

To be successful you will have:

• Qld Shotfirer’s Licence (Open Cut, Quarrying – Above Ground)
• Queensland Explosives Security Clearance
• Standard 11
• A solid background of at least five years as a Shotfirer in the mining sector
• Strong knowledge of explosives, blasting techniques, and safety procedures
• Leadership and team management skills
• A can-do attitude, excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities
• A commitment to safety, quality, and environmental standards
• The ability to pass a comprehensive pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen
