Description:

We are a busy Emergency Department treating on average 50,000 patients a year. We are looking for Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse to work within the Accident and Emergency Department. There is no guessing what the day might bring.
Every day will be different, busy but never dull. You will enjoy working with supportive co-workers, providing an efficient and caring service to our patients
The patient will be at the centre of everything you do. We are looking for a highly skilled and accomplished individual who is well motivated and committed to high standards of patient care and personal professional development.
We will provide a supportive atmosphere, mentorship and clinical supervision in the Unit and are committed to professional development of all staff. Team working and Lead nurses are an integral part of the Units with all staff enabled and empowered to make a real difference for their patients.
The successful candidates at Band 6 will be able to demonstrate that they can manage a dedicated team to deliver nursing care of the highest standards to our patients, while working under pressure. A minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in an Emergency Unit setting is essential as is Mentorship Level 3 or the equivalent NH330 and NA371 or equivalent. A qualification in Mental Health nursing would be an advantage.
The successful candidates at Band 6 will be able to demonstrate that they can manage a dedicated team to deliver Nursing care of the highest standards to our patients, while working under pressure.
We will offer you excellent managerial support and commitment to your personal professional development. We expect all our staff to share the values that are important to the trust – being excellent, kind, responsible and respectful – and behave in a way that reflects these.

In 2020 the Care Quality Commission rated us as ‘Good’ overall, and ‘Outstanding’ for being caring and effective. The Conquest Hospital and our Community Services are rated ‘Outstanding’. Eastbourne DGH rated ‘Good’.
In 2020, the Trust launched its ambitious ‘Building for our Future’ programme. This once in a lifetime programme aims to repair, redevelop and expand our hospitals, transforming the environment in which we provide care for generations to come.
