The Catheterisation Suite has two labs and an 8 bedded recovery bay currently undertaking a range of procedures including coronary angiography, implant of pacemakers, transoesophageal echo and external cardioversions. You will deliver excellent nursing care within both the recovery area and the lab area, in the role of circulating nurse and scrub nurse. Support the Unit Manager and MDT leaders in future departmental developments.

The department is open Monday - Friday from 08:00-18:00hrs.
Your role will be to support the Unit Manager, to ensure the provision of excellent care and compassion to all patients and visitors to the department. You will ensure that a high standard of nursing care is delivered by yourself and others based on assessment, planning implementation and evaluation.
You will assist and support the Unit Manager in safe and effective management including staff rotas, recruitment and selection, management of performance, audits, participation in the development/management of standard operating procedures. You will also assist with complaints, incidents and errors.
You will co-ordinate the daily running of the department, ensuring both out-patients and in-patients are dealt with in a timely manner.
You will provide leadership support to a team of band 5 nurses and senior healthcare assistants and work closely with the multi-disciplinary team caring for patients pre, peri and post procedurally.
You will be expected to be competent in all aspects of cardiac catheter suite nursing including working within the recovery area, circulating, scrubbing and assisting in the lab as well as being competent in adult safe sedation.

Support the Unit Manager and Matron in ensuring the provision of excellent care with compassion for the patients, relatives and visitors who are cared for within or by the ward, department, service or team.
Assist and support the Unit Manager in the safe, effective management of the area including management of personnel, facilities and the associated systems and processes.
Act as a role model, presenting a positive image of self, team and the organisation.
Be responsible for the delivery and co-ordination of care, through appropriate professional practice, delegation and supervision of duties carried out by junior staff
