Description:
This is an exciting opportunity within the Emergency Department in Princess of Wales. We welcome both paediatric and adult trained nurses to apply. The post holder will be required to carry out a range of assigned tasks involving direct andindirect care for the benefit of the patient/client in accordance with agreed protocols.Provide leadership, mentorship and support and act as a role model to the team.The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that all relevant policies and proceduresare adhered to, and staff within the Emergency Department (ED) meet the UHBrequirements outlined in the Health and Safety Policy.The post holder will be expected to assist in development of policies relevant to thespeciality and be responsible for implementing such policies in own area of clinicalresponsibility.The post holder will participate in the development of clinical guidelines and operationalpolicies/procedures using the best available evidence base, which will impact on otherprofessions within the multi-disciplinary team.The post holder will act as an expert resource providing specialist advice, care and supportregarding the clinical management of patients within the ED.The post holder will support the Senior Nurse to provide line management, clinical andprofessional leadership, advice and support to nurses within the ED and ensure the higheststandard of nursing care is delivered to patients attending the ED.The post holder will have a continuing responsibility of the management and the delivery ofa highly specialised service within the unit ensuring effective and efficient use of resources.They will assist the Senior Nurse in developing systems and processes to monitor: Quality of care. Adherence to UHB policies and procedures.
Clinical practice.The post holder will maximise the performance of all nursing staff within ED, ensuringeffective structures for the supervision and direction of work.They will lead on clinical audits for the Emergency Department, providing audit outcomesand reports to the wider multi-disciplinary and management teams as required
