Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time band 6 nurse on 8north ward – a 22 bedded Endocrinology/General Medical Ward at Charing Cross Hospital.
You will need experience of working on a medical ward, and be able to take charge of the ward.
A good knowledge of discharge processes would be very helpful, and an ability to proactively plan patient care with a caring and empathetic attitude is essential. You will be expected to mentor junior staff and students, to provide leadership on the ward, and deputise for the ward manager in their absence.
You will also need sound interpersonal, negotiation and decision making skills and be enthusiastic about promoting the highest standards of safe, patient centred care. 8north is an endocrine ward, so a good knowledge of caring for patients with diabetes would be helpful, as would experience of managing complex medical patients, working with the MDT, and being involved in discharge planning.
