Description:

We are looking for a self motivated and experienced nurse with specialist palliative care experience to support the Matron and clinical team at Cynthia Spencer Hospice This post is 30 hrs per week.
Cynthia Spencer Hospice Inpatient Unit has 16 inpatient beds, and is part of the Specialist Palliative Care (SPC) service in Northamptonshire. The applicant must have excellent communication skills, assertiveness and be able to make independently sound decisions with the support of the Matron. You will assist in supporting new ways of working to drive and influence innovative practice across multi agency pathways of care. You will be able to influence in leading the delivery of high quality patient care together with the nursing, therapy and medical team.
The post holder must have recent experience within a hospice inpatient unit of Band 5 or above. The post holder must have experience of multi-disciplinary team working. With support of Matron, the post holder must demonstrate leadership and motivational skills, be able to prioritise work and delegate where appropriate. The post holder will be working in a fast paced environment and must have the ability to thrive when under pressure. The post holder will be required to be flexible to work a 24 hours/7 days shift pattern. The post holder must be able to support the ongoing practice development of the staff within the inpatient setting.
Whilst this post is based at Cynthia Spencer Hospice , the post holder will be expected to support our colleagues at Cransley Hospice Kettering should service needs dictate.
