Description:
An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse within the Trauma & Orthopaedic Ward at Bradford Royal Infirmary.
We are a busy ward, offering care to patients undergoing trauma, orthopaedics &plastics care. This requires our staff to have excellent assessment skills, with ability to prioritise a busy workload alongside our multi-disciplinary teams.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive, motivated and experienced Nurse to work as part of the Trauma/Orthopaedic Unit. The post will support the Senior Sister of Ward 28 in providing management and leadership to the team.
We are looking to appoint a dynamic and skilled individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to provide an effective, high quality patient focused service, with a clear understanding of the issues in relation to the management of orthopaedic / acute trauma & plastic surgery patients.
You will be expected to assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and work within national policy frameworks and guidelines relevant to the patient group and specialty area.
It is essential that you have a good understanding of the challenges in relation to Trauma & Orthopaedic and the skills required to support patients, families and carers following an emergency or elective procedure. You must demonstrate excellent clinical skills, a strong team management approach and be open to new ideas and innovative ways of working.

The job holder will assist in maintaining a safe environment in the unit for patient’s staff and visitors.
The job holder will identify areas of practice development and lead development in defined areas.
The job holder will assist as part of the clinical governance agenda in the development and implementation of audit systems to improve quality and standards of patient care/satisfaction

Responsibilities:
To support and assist the departments senior sister based on Ward 28 in the management of the Trauma and Orthopaedic unit and nursing staff.
To provide leadership to teams of nurses in the delivery of multidisciplinary, high quality patient centered care.
Ensures, along with the departmental senior sister, the implementation and adherence of Trust, National and professional policies, whilst ensuring all team members develop both professionally and practically.
