About the Role:
Working as the Site Civil Engineer for AGL’s 500MW/1000MWh Liddell Battery Energy Storage System, you will be working client-side to oversea civil construction by the contractors onsite, to ensure that contractors comply with engineering designs, specifications, construction standards and HSE requirements. This is a 12 month contract with the potential for extension.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Monitor contractor performance and provide guidance to ensure adherence to project requirements
  • Ensure contractors implement quality control processes and maintain accurate records of construction and quality documentation
  • Collaborate with safety personnel to enforce site safety procedures
  • Be a visual site specialist on site during the working week and some weekends (as required)
  • Review and approve contractor submitted Inspection and Test Plans for civil construction activities
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify the quality of workmanship, materials and construction techniques
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all construction activities
  • Document any changes, modifications or deviations from the original plans
  • Monitor and report on project milestones, timelines and deliverables
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains in contractor management and construction oversight

About You:
You will be a Civil Engineer with site based experience for large scale battery, renewable energy or large infrastructure projects. Most importantly your ability to engage and influence contractors on technical and HSE matters will set you up for success.

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • A Bachelor of Civil Engineering qualification
  • Experience working on large scale construction projects
  • A strong understanding of Australian civil engineering standards and industry construction practices
  • Advanced communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Advanced problem solving and analytical thinking skills
