Smyth Industries Field Services Division is currently searching for an individual with Water Infrastructure Industry experience as a Site Civil Foreman to help enhance our current team. We provide full-service electrical, civil, manufacturing, engineering and general contracting services for the water and reclamation industry.
The ideal candidate will foster teamwork and create a positive work environment in a fast-paced industry, while helping our Arizona clients engineer, rehabilitate, manufacture and construct water distribution and treatment infrastructure.

Smyth Industries, Inc. has been serving the water and reclamation industry throughout Arizona and the Southwest since the company’s inception as Smyth Steel Manufacturing in 1980. We’ve grown from our steel tank fabrication and specialty manufacturing origins, into a full-service water and reclamation industry General Contractor specializing in end-to-end solutions including Storage Tanks, Pump and Water Wells, Pressure and Surge Vessels, Industrial Coatings, Electrical and Controls, and Engineering.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of commercial or industrial civil construction trade experience
  • 3 years of experience in all the following tasks: installing aboveground piping, installing underground piping, installing hydro pneumatic tanks, install hydro pneumatic tank apprentices, set forms for concrete, finish concrete, site grading, and/or general mechanical skills.
  • Ability to operate a skid steer, mini excavator, and backhoe, 2 years required.
  • 2-years leading 1-2 teams required.
  • Self-motivated, task-oriented, leader
  • Required to possess a valid driver’s license and legally be able to operate a company vehicle.
  • Required to pass a preemployment drug screening.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • Must be able to physically perform all required duties which may include bending, lifting 50-pound objects, carrying 50-pound items, squatting, climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, working outdoors most of the time, or standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • Required to wear company supplied Personal Protective Equipment.
  • The applicant should be comfortable working around industrial equipment.
  • Knowledgeable reading and connecting field wiring using ladder drawings.

  • Perform semi-skilled and skilled laboring duties related to installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of civil construction tasks.
  • Reassemble equipment, using hand tools.
  • Ability to select tools to complete daily job tasks.
  • Proficient in the use of basic hand tools to perform daily job functions: screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, cordless drills, hand operated saw, level etc.

  • Proficient at working with blueprints and written specification.
  • Ability to lead a team, complete project assigned tasks, while working under minimal supervision
  • Maintain equipment to ensure it is in good condition and can operate safely; report any issues immediate Foreman/Supervisor.
  • General site clean-up, digging trenches, staging material, or all other duties as assigned
