About the Opportunity
Due to continued strong growth at Acciona, we are looking to expand our team with an experienced Site Engineer for our South Australian construction business. The Site Engineer will be crucial in providing expertise in project engineering operations and onsite engineering services for their designated area. The primary goal is to ensure the project’s successful completion, adhering to safety, budget, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily Project Oversight: Manage daily construction activities to ensure project milestones are achieved.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor and report the performance of the workforce and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to technical, program, quality, environmental, safety, and commercial standards.
  • Design Review Participation: Attend design reviews and provide input on constructability, temporary works designs, safety, site access, and related issues.
  • Schedule Development: Create, monitor, and control project schedules.
  • Site Setup: Plan and implement site establishment activities, ensuring compliance with site-specific and contract requirements, including location, fencing, signage, environmental, and traffic conditions.
  • Risk Management: Identify, analyze, and mitigate potential risks, maintaining a risk register and initiating corrective actions as needed.
  • Change Management: Manage changes to scope, deliverables, schedules, and budgets.
  • Operational Analysis: Analyze variances, trends, risks, and opportunities, and highlight significant operational performance issues to management.
  • Environmental Considerations: Integrate environmental considerations into all construction activities.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Educational Background: Degree qualifications in Engineering or Construction Management, specifically a Bachelor of Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Planning and Negotiation: Highly developed planning and negotiation abilities.
  • Team Management: Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with team members, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Problem-solving: Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on delivering timely solutions.
