PepsiCo is on the look-out for a Site Engineering Lead (Little Island) to join our global engineering function based in Cork.

Reporting to the Plant Capital Engineering Manager, this is a central role based in Little Island, Ireland. The key focus will be leading the delivery of the Little Island Capital (Plant Projects) plan to support the capacity, BCP (Business Continuity Plan) and other critical plant and global programs in the Little Island Concentrate Plant and co-located Food Flavours Plant.
This role is focused on delivering excellence in PGCS capital program execution and ensuring global best practice in project execution and program governance. Key challenges will be balancing the delivery of the Plant Capital Plan within budget and schedule, against the resources available and challenging operating priorities, within a complex business global model and variable business dynamics arising from broad and varying demands.
The role will provide stewardship for PGCS Plant Capital program & Governance in accordance with regulatory controls & PepsiCo policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Little Island Plant Engineering team in the development and delivery of the Plant Capital Program required for key business critical initiatives including capacity, infrastructure, and business continuity planning (BCP).
  • Lead the delivery of the Little Island Plant Capital Program, with consistently & to the highest standards of EHS Management, Contractor/Vendor Quality Control, Cost/Budget Management, Schedule Management, Change Control, Change Management, Score Card Metric Adherence
  • Lead the implementation of project management best practice including all relevant procedures, risk management, change control, communications, tracking & performance metrics
  • Partner with the site and functional groups to ensure a robust capital plan is in place to deliver the business needs
  • Lead the prioritisation and yearly planning of a broad portfolio of projects
  • Lead scoping and value management exercises as required across a diverse portfolio of projects
  • Responsible for the adherence to program governance protocols
  • Lead the communications planning and flow of information from capital projects through to:o The Central Governance/Steering teamso The Plant Management Teamo The wider stakeholder network as required.
  • Lead the identification and resolution of project issues
  • Support the development of Business cases and Capex documents for the Little Island Plant Capital Program
  • Lead world class performance in program management, project implementation and construction management for the Little Island Plant Capital Program
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance, ensuring business needs are met
  • Lead the Change Management agenda to ensure smooth interface and communication with the Ireland Plant Functions, ensuring seamless startup & handover of projects
  • Lead the development of project capex and opex cashflow forecasting and subsequent tracking/reporting
  • Lead and Represent the Little Island Engineering Team at Site Forums including Daily Operations Meetings / Site EHS Meetings / Change Control etc.
  • Manage a group of staff and contract engineers (~5) to ensure the delivery of the Plant Capital program.
  • Manage a group of contractors and vendors delivering this agenda (~50) to ensure the delivery of the Plant Capital program.
  • Identify and build technical capability across all the engineering team and provide training where required.
  • Role Is Primarily Site Based
  • This role requires significant technical competency in plant operations and the ability to influence key stakeholders to drive change through project implementation. Strong communication and influencing skills are required.
  • The ability to manage teams of contractors and staff to deliver capital projects to a high standard within committed budget and schedule.
  • Strong background in the development and implementation of new innovative solutions in a live Plant Environment
  • Experience in managing multiple complex projects in a busy site
  • Experience in managing contractor workforce and 3rd party consultants.

Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years process industry experience in engineering with extensive capital project management experience particularly in the area delivery in live production environments
  • Degree qualification in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering
  • Experience required in the following areas:
  • Process plant technical standards
  • Project concept development
  • Business case and capital approval
  • Design, Procurement and Installation
  • Construction, Commissioning and Validation
  • Environmental, health and safety management
  • Contractor and Construction Management
  • Project risk management
  • Ability to define and lead projects and direct/motivate project teams
  • Demonstrated ability to function effectively in fast-paced situations, with the personal leadership to influence and positively motivate self and peers
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, proven ability to work at all levels in an international organization
  • Highly developed influencing skills required to manage various stakeholders
  • Experience in managing large contractor workforce and 3rd party consultants.
