THE OPPORTUNITY:

Uphold is looking for a Backend Reliability Engineer to join our Engineering team. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity where you’ll get to evaluate the requirements of businesses and make architectural recommendations to achieve elegant solutions, either by reusing existing tools or proposing new ones. You will build and architect solutions that address business challenges through technology.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3+ years of experience in engineering and software architecture design.
• Strong understanding of CS fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, system design, and distributed systems.
• Proven problem-solving skills and resourcefulness.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.

BONUS IF YOU HAVE:

• Experience working with Node.js, Go, PostgreSQL, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Message Queues.
• Understanding of observability and orchestration tools.
• Passion for designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services.
• A knack for writing simple, maintainable code and taking a balanced, pragmatic approach to your work.
• Fluency in cryptocurrencies or other digital assets as they are core to our business.
• Community talks, certifications, and/or blog posts on your interests and research.
• Contributions to open source projects, whether through tools developed to solve specific problems or fixing issues on existing projects.

• Participate in software and system performance analysis, tuning, and demand/capacity planning for business-critical, large-scale, high availability applications.
