You are responsible for proactively improving the lives of engineers at Finder so that everybody is able to do their jobs better, every day.
You are comfortable delivering an engineering-led, commercially focussed outcome from inception through to go-live. You live and work across the technology stack - top to bottom, from the user interface through the messaging, service and data tiers as well as monitoring, working with and tuning the deployment in production.
You have an understanding of the broader context of software engineering and product development strategy at Finder, including the intersection of the business and technology-facing factors that carve the way to your work being successful.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build products and tools that allow engineers and squads to operate autonomously, reducing toil, and improving productivity and quality of life
  • System workflow automation
  • Defining and monitoring service level indicators to ensure that the squads responsible for them are hitting their targets
  • Incident management, response and resolution along with supporting teams in the creation and maintenance of relevant playbooks.
  • The infrastructure foundations and networking that other teams use for their DevOps.

  • Improvement of service and system performance and reliability as well as the monitoring of infrastructure cost.
  • Embodying, demonstrating and reinforcing our engineering principles and company values.
  • Problem solving skills and the ability to create solutions
  • Coaching, mentoring and developing of engineers
We don’t expect anybody to have experience in every one of the following points, but this should paint a picture of the type of engineer we’re looking for.
