Description:
INTERIM POSITION - 12 MONTH CONTRACT
We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental professional on an interim basis, to support one of our manufacturing sites in Northwich, Cheshire. You will provide competent and practical health and safety advice and support to the site teams, designing, supporting, driving and monitoring the delivery and progress of local Health & Safety Improvement Plans.
The work will be largely in operational areas of multi hazard, complex chemical plants. It will require a hands-on approach with focus out on the manufacturing site, rather than being fully office based. The following experience will be important to us finding our ideal candidate,
- You hold the NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent with 10 plus years’ experience of driving behavioural change in an industrial environment. Chemical and process safety experience is desirable, as is experience of driving improvements in work place transport.
- You have experience in leading, influencing and engaging people at all levels of the organisation and third party stakeholders is essential as is the ability to apply health and safety legislation and guidance in an understandable, pragmatic and user friendly manner, whilst challenging proactively unsafe conditions, practices and poor standards.
- You have experience of identifying a large range of potential hazards in the work environment and achieving improvement in compliance with regulations, resulting in improving Safety, Health and Environmental performance.
- You regularly carry out accident incident and or near miss investigations and applying a range of root cause analysis techniques with a clear understanding of the potential implications of incidents and near misses.
- You are committed to develop specialist knowledge in key relevant areas and keep abreast of legislative and best practice developments.
- You will have had previous line management experience, with the site based SHE Officer and RPE coordinator reporting directly to you
