JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Perform and document site surveys to support fiber optic, copper, and coaxial infrastructure requirements.
• Prepare working engineering project packages for installation teams with installation instructions, sketches, and List of Materials (LOMs).
• Complete technical solution for the telecommunications and IT upgrades/installations.
• Analyze technical requirements to support projected mission, technology, infrastructure changes, and recommend capabilities for the new and existing facilities.
• Engineer the technical solution to meet the AFCENT approved requirements.
• Analyze technical requirements to support projected mission, technology, infrastructure changes, and recommend capabilities for the new and existing facilities.
• Engineer the technical solution to meet the AFCENT approved requirements.
• Specification of tools and test equipment requirements.
• Brief senior military personnel on plans and/or status of projects.
• Create and update a continuity book to include location of soft copy information, examples of PSA and project packages, and local POC information.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must meet at least one of the following educational requirements:
• Bachelor of Science degree in electrical/electronics/computer engineering from an accredited university.
• Building Industry Consulting Service International BICSI Outside Plant Design.
• USAF Engineering & Installation Project Engineering Course.
• Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD).
• Must have at least 6 years of “hands on” work experience in support of communications electronic systems or equipment.
• Must have the technical knowledge to solve complex problems, understand the interrelationships of circuits, understands Internet Protocol (IP) routing and architecture design and be able to exercise independent judgment in performing tasks.
• Must have at least three years of experience in Military Classified Communication Infrastructure Distribution.
• Must have valid U.S. Driver’s License.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must have a current passport.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prefer BICSI certification(s).
• Prefer a working knowledge of DoD and USAF Directives, TIA/EIA standards and BICSI guidelines.
• Prefer experience within the USCENTCOM Area of Responsibility.
• Prefer a familiarity with military organizations, protocols, procedures, and processes, and working knowledge of addressing issues/concerns using the chain-of-command.

• The work required to survey the current Inside Plant (rack/cabinet placement & bracing, HVAC, cable pathways, etc.) needs and provide a list of materials to resolve any ISP for the GSN project on Camp Arifjan,Kuwait sites.
