THE SKI CLUB OF VICTORIA IS SEEKING A MOTIVATED AND HANDS-ON RESTAURANT SUPERVISOR TO WORK AS PART OF OUR TEAM AND DELIVER AN EXCEPTIONAL DINING EXPERIENCE TO OUR MEMBERS AND GUESTS FOR THE UPCOMING WINTER SEASON.

    The Ski Club of Victoria is seeking a motivated and hands-on Restaurant Supervisor to work as part of our team and deliver an exceptional dining experience to our members and guests for the upcoming winter season.
    As the restaurant supervisor you will overseas the front of house operations of our busy 100 seat restaurant passionately known as ‘The Whitt’.
    Open for lunch and dinner, our focus is on classic brasserie style food, fresh produce and a fun and efficient working environment.
    We also have a small, but busy cafe, serving house roasted coffee and takeaway eats. It’s a Mount Buller hot spot and is known for its flavoursome coffee and delicious quick bites, while you are hitting the slopes.
    The successful candidate must have previous food and beverage experience in a busy restaurant environment. You must possess the qualities to deliver exceptional customer service, have the ability to push on when it gets busy, enjoy having a laugh and be a true team player!
    You will have a proven ability to supervise a small team, delegate tasks and ensure high-quality service and guest satisfaction is provided.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to delegate tasks and give clear direction to the restaurant team.
  • Ability to train and motivate a small team.
  • Understand and adhere to organisational policies and procedures.
  • Able to multitask, remain calm under pressure and consistently deliver superior customer service.
  • Proficiency in the use of MS office suite, staff rostering software and POS systems.
  • Strong knowledge of wines, cocktails, and beers.
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate (Victoria).
    This is a seasonal casual position (June – End of September) across a 7-day operation that will includes days, evenings, and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure efficient, friendly, and professional food and beverage service is provided to all members and guests.
  • Familiarize yourself with Members and regular guests to ensure their requests and needs are met.
  • Liaise with customers and kitchen team to ensure service times are adhered to.
  • Ensure weekly cleaning schedule for the restaurant is completed to the highest possible hygiene and cleaning standards.
  • Ensure all mis-en-place is completed prior to guests arriving.
  • Ensure staff are competent in all service procedures and they are able to maximize sales to guests.
  • Ensure guest billing is completed accurately following procedure and that correct charges are posted correctly
  • Be knowledgeable of and operate within appropriate liquor licensing guidelines and procedures.
  • Maintain currency of RSA certification, amendments and updates and adhere to RSA principles.
  • Co-ordinate daily reservations and table allocations with the Front Office team
  • Respond efficiently and accurately to customer query’s and complaints.
