Job Description:
Deliver simple solutions to complex problems as a Smartsheetgov Developer/Dashboard Developer at GDIT supporting GCIO-internal Enterprise initiatives. Design, develop, test, debug, and deploy new Smartsheetgov solutions that extend or replace existing capabilities. You will tailor cutting-edge solutions to the unique requirements of our stakeholders and make the end user’s experience your priority.

Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with different teams and stakeholders to gather requirements to design, prototype, develop, test, debug, and deploy new software capabilities that extend or replace existing business processes
  • Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights
  • Design and build dashboards and reports for all levels of the organization, including executives and staff
  • Contribute to a variety of software and/or data-related prototype and project efforts
  • Manage and maintain metadata definitions for implemented solutions
  • Write and update technical documentation
  • Train staff to use developed capabilities

Qualifications (Required)

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent professional work experience.
  • 2 years experience using web development tools, visualization tools or scripting languages
  • Able to discern stakeholder needs and translate their input into requirements
  • Able to effectively communicate development plans, and track progress milestones
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent critical thinking skills to assess numbers, trends, and data to reach new conclusions based on findings
  • Excellent quantitative skills, including statistical analysis, process design, and data management
  • Experience with creating BI Dashboards (Tableau, Power BI, Smartsheet, etc.)
  • Experience with briefing senior leadership
  • Experience with building robust analytical models, including forecasts and historical trend analyses.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and team skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to clearly define issues, number of users affected, and possible causes
  • Ability to maintain documentation
  • Ability to assess current and future needs and priorities
  • Ability to understand the needs of internal clients and translate their input into requirements

Qualifications (Desired)

  • Experience with Data Reporting and Visualization Tools such as: Tableau, or Microsoft Business Intelligence (BI), and/or Smartsheet
  • Certifications in Tableau, Power BI or Smartsheet
  • Experience with facilitating BI tool training
  • Experience with SQL, HTML, Python, and/or JavaScript

The likely salary range for this position is $72,000 - $108,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
