An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of an innovative and dynamic team, working on a new Help Me Quit smoking cessation Maternity service, in Singleton Hospital, and/ or being part of the new Help Me Quit, Smoking Cessation in Hospital team, working across NHS hospital Trusts sites in Swansea Bay. Also supporting these Patients within the community, or visiting them at home. We have vacancies in both of these new areas.
In these roles you will support the Maternity, outpatient inpatient and community patients, and relevant teams, to provide advice and support, to safely and sustainably, stop smoking.

Maternity -The post holder will advise and will work proactively with all women and their household members who smoke during pregnancy.
Hospital - The post holder will support inpatients, out patients, Community.
These 2 roles will overlap and support each other if service needs are required.
The post holder will provide a variety of evidence-based stop smoking interventions including face-to-face, behavioural support and pharmacotherapy, group sessions, digital and self-help support, and telephone and texting support. The post holder will work closely with others as part of the wider pathway to support smoking cessation and smoke-free households including carbon monoxide testing; risk perception interventions; and recording, collating and monitoring smoking and quit rates and client progress.

You will need to have excellent interpersonal skills, and experience of working with Patients/service users to make a positive behaviour change.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals to join our team of smoking cessation Advisors, to provide specialist behavioural support and advice to smokers who want to quit.
Working within locally defined areas, covering a number of clinics in a range of settings across Maternity, secondary care, and community.
You will have excellent organisational skills, and experience of using technology is essential. You will be responsible for accurate recording of service user information electronically throughout each day, to ensure that record keeping meets the team’s standards for service delivery.
You will also need the ability to positively influence the actions of others, and must be a non-smoker or someone who has stopped for over a year
The team’ is based at Cimla, however you will also be working in the community or secondary care, therefore you will need to be self motivated and able to work autonomously. There is a significant demand for our service outside of office hours, thus the candidate should be willing to work flexible hours including evenings and Saturdays.
Previous experience in a smoking cessation work is advantageous, but is not essential as full training will be provided.
The role is open to part time candidates, and working hours will include ongoing evening and weekend clinics.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post, Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
