Reporting into the Manager, Social Impact & Partnerships, the Social Impact Specialist will manage the day-to-day operations of Meridian’s signature and community investment programs for employees and communities while playing a key role in supporting the development and execution of Meridian’s community partnership strategy.

The ideal candidate is deeply passionate about Social Impact, has strong project management and communications skills and is able to collaborate with a wide variety of departments, partners and stakeholders. We are looking for someone with a track record of operational excellence across a variety of projects and departments.
Knowledge of the Benevity Database is a must.

Manage & Market Signature Social Impact Programs to our Employees & Communities

  • Manage the software infrastructure, database, operations, and marketing communications for Meridian’s Social Impact programs.
  • Lead day-to-day execution Meridian’s signature Social Impact program, including stakeholder stewardship, volunteer management, and program impact measurement.
  • Support our Company Social Impact Program by assisting with the coordination of employee-led giving campaigns, grant-making and sponsorship initiatives, and employee volunteer initiatives.
  • With Manager, Social Impact, be a steward for Community Grant partner relationships.
  • Liaise with and support our Operations, Retail, Wealth, and Business Banking stakeholders.
  • Support the Manager, Social Impact in managing and promoting disaster relief campaigns when they arise, creating online giving campaigns for internal partners.

Coordinate Marketing & Communications of Key Social Impact Programs & Partnerships

  • For key Social Impact programs and partnerships, partner with Internal Communications, Media Relations, Social Media and Marketing colleagues to design, plan and execute promotional plans, for optimal awareness and engagement.
  • Develop relationships with Meridian colleagues and community partners to track and measure social impact activities, anecdotes, photos, and program outcomes.
  • Manage Do Some Good, Meridian’s Social Impact storytelling platform.
  • Working with ESG and Social Impact colleagues, maintain the team’s communications calendar and communicate key events and deadlines to Meridian leadership.

Communicate & Coordinate with Key Social Impact Stakeholders

  • Communicate and promote Meridian’s social impact goals, programs, and partnerships to internal and external stakeholders, developing and maintaining exceptional relationships.
  • Represent Meridian in social impact industry associations as a subject matter expert, leading and sharing best practices.
  • Administer contracts and payments between Meridian and community partners.
  • Support Manager, Social Impact with program and partnership planning, and continuous improvement and innovation in Social Impact overall as part of Meridian’s Commitment to Communities.

Regularly Track and Evaluate the Performance of Social Impact Programs and Activities

  • Identify key metrics, analyze data, and provide insights to improve program effectiveness.
  • Effectively communicate program updates and outcomes to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide program impact reports to Manager, Social Impact as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated strengths in client service, detailed project execution and budget management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a corporate setting.
  • Strong administrative, organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn other programs including sponsorship software. Experience using Benevity and/or GrantStream (Grants by Benevity) software is a must.
  • Sound judgment in dealing with complex issues and conflict situations.
  • Works well in a fast-paced, fluid environment; comfortable in an environment of continuous improvement and change.

Education, Designations, Training, and Experience

  • At least 3 years of directly relevant program management experience, ideally in a combination of not-for-profit/public and corporate sectors.
  • Post-secondary and/or continuing education related to corporate community investment, not-for-profit program management, and/or marketing and communications. Equivalencies gained from professional training received on the job will be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating or managing strategic corporate or not-for-profit/public sector programs and/or partnerships.
  • Must have experience and enthusiasm for spearheading the continuous improvement of programs and partnerships.
  • Must have experience in and passion for cause marketing; experience working with Corporate Communications, Media Relations, Marketing and Social Media teams to optimize awareness and engagement with community programs.
  • Experience engaging, supporting, and coordinating volunteers.

Office Location: 3330 Bloor Street West, Toronto .
