Description:

Type of Position: Term-Summer Student
Location: Victoria/ Langford, BC
Reporting to: Managing Director, Commercial & Marcoms
Salary: $18.00 / hour for a 35 hour week.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated experience in designing tailored content for social media channels,

including text, images, and videos.

  • Proven track record of coordinating and designing content across various platforms to

increase engagement and awareness.

  • Experience in monitoring social media engagement, analyzing audience preferences,

and adapting content strategies accordingly.

  • Proficiency in editing multimedia content, including short-form videos and graphics, to

promote events and increase ticket sales.

  • Ability to adapt to different roles and projects within marketing and communications,

including freelance work for multiple organizations.

  • Graphic Design Skills: Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop tools for creating animated

graphics and enhancing multimedia content.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing marketing campaigns and curating materials and content for

a wide variety of digital and non-digital platforms.

  • Create engaging text, image and video content
  • Monitor our Rugby fan social engagement patterns and research audience preferences.

Discover new and current trends and platforms.

  • Design posts to sustain the rugby community’s curiosity and create buzz around our

national teams, players, events, games, merchandise, clinics, and overall growth of the

game.

  • Stay up-to-date with changes in all social platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness
  • Train co-workers, summer students and new hires how to use social media in a cohesive

and beneficial way

  • Facilitate online conversations with fans and respond to queries
  • Develop an optimal posting schedule, considering web traffic, digital newsletters and

community engagement metrics

  • Oversee social media accounts’ layout
  • Suggest new ways to attract new fans to the game, prospective store customers,

game/ticket purchasers, and potential rugby registrations.

  • Establish relationships with the digital rugby community and foster relationships with

online influencers

  • Create, manage and change content online, and potentially repurpose content for non-

digital channels

  • Collaborate with graphic designer, photographer, videographers, communications

manager/writers and marketing specialists

  • Monitoring other unions and key rugby accounts
