Social Worker Assistant

• Degree in Social Work or a related field, from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience in the field preferred.
• Minimum 1-year experience, preferably in a health care setting or social work setting.
• Must have the ability to work efficiently, responsibly, and independently. Excellent time management skills required.
• Must possess strong interpersonal skills with a high sensitivity to the needs of others, including the ability to communicate effectively with staff, administrators, patients, families, physicians, volunteers, and other customers.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training within ninety days of hire.
• Maintain the safety of the unit, patients and staff.
• Assist with the completion of Psychosocial Assessment, Mental Status Exam, and Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test within 72 hours of admission.
• Coordinate and contribute towards individual and group therapy activities according to an established program schedule.
• Assist in the coordination of discharge planning in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team
• Offer family education as needed to complete discharge coordination.
• Participate in daily treatment team as needed
• Knowledge of Community Resources and strong networking
• Assumes responsibility for meeting annual in-service requirements and ongoing personal development.
