Care Corner Singapore Ltd was founded in 1981, in a climate of changes in the early 1980s, as economic competition in the region intensified and the rift between the wealthy and the lower-income in particular the Chinese blue-collar workers, widened. Rev Tan Tien Ser and a group of passionate individuals believed that these marginalised people with lower income and little opportunities for a formal education could be helped to realise their potential and become more competent and fulfilled persons. Through a series of early outreach initiatives, Care Corner has evolved into an organisation offering a wide range of programmes and services delivered through various social service centres located island-wide. In a bid to stay relevant to the needs of the community, Care Corner has continuously strived to offer new and innovative programmes to support those in need and the less privileged.
DESIGNATION : Social Worker (Strengthening Families)

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Master Degree in Counselling or Bachelor Degree in Social Work (preferably with a recognised certification in Counselling)
• 3-5 years of relevant casework/ counselling experience in education, counselling, social work, or related work involving family, parents and children, and have experience in conducting training and workshop
• Preferably accredited member of SASW

JOB PURPOSE:

You will be part of the team to provide casework and counselling services for families, with the goal for families to achieve healthy family functioning, and to deliver divorce support programmes and services to families who are affected by divorce, with the goal for families and their children to achieve stability and self-reliance.

ROLES & RESPONSIBLITIES:

• Conduct counselling for individuals, couples and families who are experiencing stress due to family-related issues, including marriage, divorce, parent-child relationships or issues among siblings or extended family.
• Provide support group therapy for parents and children.
• Facilitate co-parenting programmes and workshops to help equip parents with knowledge of positive parent-child relationship, and build strategies in managing their co-parenting relationships through counselling and coaching on parenting issues.
• Facilitate and supervise visitation access of divorcing/ divorced parents with their children and ensuring that the session carries on smoothly and safely for both the parent and children.
• Conduct individual and family sessions on co-parenting and divorce-related issues
• Conduct case management for clients and case conferences with partners.
• Provide support therapy for parents and children
