Responsibilities:
Sabre is currently recruiting for a Software Acquisition Engineer to work in Lexington Park, MD at NAVAIR. NAVAIR’s mission is to provide full life-cycle support of naval aviation aircraft, weapons and systems operated. This support includes research, design, development and systems engineering, acquisition, test and evaluation, training facilities and equipment, repair and modification, and in-service engineering and logistics support.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering or Mathematics is required
  • Demonstrated knowledge in area of Software engineering expertise is required
  • Ten (10) plus years of experience in software acquisition and engineering supporting DoD Aircraft Weapons Systems is required
  • P-8 specific experience is a plus
  • An Active DoD Secret Clearance is required
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Candidates will be required to pass a background check for this position

Responsibilities:

  • Perform integrated avionics system/subsystem design maturity assessments, including technical adjudication [of] recommendations.
  • Perform as the SW SME for all P-8A SW related Developmental and Fleet flight clearances including Increment 3 Block 2 update program and AAS.
  • Support all SW related acquisitions including the evaluation of Software requirements, design, and documentation.
  • Review and prepare engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals and other technical documentation.
  • Contribute to risk/issue identification, mitigation development and resolution coordination.
  • Apply engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, and design, develop, implement, test or evaluate military weapons systems.

  • Apply engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management.
