Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Software Delivery Manager to oversee resource allocation and management between internal stakeholders and a third-party software service provider. The successful candidate will serve as the main point of contact between internal teams and the external service provider, ensuring seamless communication, efficient resource allocation, and effective feedback mechanisms. The Software Delivery Manager will play a crucial role in monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), forecasting future resource needs, and establishing a robust governance model with the outsourcing partner. This role does not include any line management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand resource requirements and priorities.
  • Develop and define a resourcing plan and services offerings catalog while anticipating demand and ensuring swift response to internal stakeholder request.
  • Develop and maintain a hiring pipeline to ensure timely recruitment and onboarding of new resources as needed.
  • Track and report on resource utilisation, analysing data and providing suggestions for resource optimisation.
  • Maintain resource management tools, systems and processes to enhance visibility, transparency and efficiency.
  • Closely collaborate with each Software Engineering lead in defining and monitoring delivery KPIs related to resource utilization and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Working closely with external service provider on improving delivery speed, quality and onboarding times.
  • Collaborate with internal and external service provider to achieve strategic objectives and meeting stakeholder expectations.
  • Collaborate with counterparts from the external service provider to establish a robust governance model.
  • Oversee multiple delivery streams, conduct governance meetings and analyze project factors and gaps for successful outcomes.
  • Define roles, responsibilities, and escalation procedures to ensure effective collaboration and project delivery.
  • Act as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and the external service provider.
  • Facilitate communication and ensure that feedback is effectively communicated to the external service provider and acted upon.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience working in the software engineering organization of a product company using common Agile methods (Scrum, Kanban, XP).
  • Proven experience in resource planning, allocation and optimisation principles and methodologies, preferably in the nearshoring context.
  • Proven experience in project or resource management within the software development or IT industry with remote or geographically dispersed teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to assess resource demands and optimise resource allocation.
  • Experience working in an outsourcing or vendor management environment is preferred.
  • Has a results-oriented and proactive mindset, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A detail-oriented mindset to maintain accurate resource records and documentation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with internal stakeholders and external service provider.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, multitasking, reliable to deliver on time, a quick-thinker, be able to work in a fast-paced, highly entrepreneurial work environment.

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in a similar position within a software delivery company(outsourcing) is a plus.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to analyse resource-related costs and budgets.
