As we continue our mission to make people happy through chocolate, we’re looking for a Software Developer to join our Technical Delivery team on a permanent basis.
As Software Developer, you will be working with members of the technical and business teams to develop software solutions, upgrade and repair current solutions and develop and support interfaces between new and existing applications and environments.
You will also support the Service Desk in fixing application issues and, where necessary, provide training to aid their understanding and ability to resolve any future application issues. This role will also work closely with the wider technical teams in the support of business and technical projects throughout their project lifecycle.
This is a diverse and engaging role for a knowledgeable Software Developer with commercial experience, with the ambition to develop within a commercial environment.
Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
As well as a competitive salary and a range of company benefits, you’ll receive 50% discount on all products, and a 70% discount for you and your guests when you stay at our Rabot Estate hideaway on the paradise island of Saint Lucia.
Here at Hotel Chocolat, we’ve adopted hybrid working. This means you’ll join us on site for three days a week, and for the other two days – you can work from wherever (in the UK )! The on-site location for this role is our support office, ‘Mint House’, in Royston, Hertfordshire. Our home from the very beginning, it’s just off the A505 and 10 minutes’ walk from Royston train station, with direct rail links to London King’s Cross.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing services and solutions in a structured and defined manner.
  • Develop new and support existing software solutions and integrations.
  • Actively engage in all stages of the software development life cycle, from its definition to delivery and on-going review and improvement.
  • Update and apply modern software development practices.
  • Proactive self-development and up-skilling in new and emerging technologies which align with the technology road map.
  • Work closely with all IT teams in the delivery of projects, initiatives and take a lead role in technical discussions.
  • Work with other IT teams in peer reviews of technical solutions and provide technical support to the Test Team.
