The New Zealand Debt Management (NZDM) Technology Team plays a crucial role in supporting the core functions of the NZDM Directorate at the Treasury. We are responsible for the end-to-end delivery of specialist financial markets systems and information capability. Our team develops and maintains both bespoke internal systems and integrated external applications that are vital to the effective operation of NZDM and Te Tai Ōhanga.

Ō PŪMANAWA | ABOUT YOU

We are seeking a well-rounded candidate with solid technical and interpersonal skills. You will ideally bring:

  • A relevant tertiary level qualification or equivalent industry qualification or experience,
  • Software development experience using C#, .Net, JavaScript or similar languages,
  • Experience working with relational data, including T-SQL, ETL and data warehousing,
  • An understanding of compute infrastructure, including Azure Cloud and SQL Server,
  • Experience or an interest in financial markets,
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills,
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills,
  • Effective interpersonal and relationship management skills,
  • The ability to influence and work with a range of stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Work on both new and existing systems and data-driven applications,
  • Create and fine-tune data pipelines using T-SQL,
  • Play a key role in developing and maintaining our data warehouse and data integration systems,
  • Build and maintain Azure Cloud infrastructure, both Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS),
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of financial markets, and apply this to your work,
  • Actively participate in the design and architecture of our systems, contributing ideas and solutions,
  • Work closely with business stakeholders and end-users to deliver high-quality software that meets their needs.
