Description:
The Software Developer is responsible for building and deploying custom software components to enhance member experience. Solutions built in this role will encompass multiple technology disciplines and tools.
You will be responsible for programming and development including program assessment, creation, modification and translation in multiple systems. Independently verify that functional requirements are met, and results validated in test environments. Ensure that all development work is clearly noted, follows credit union security standards, and satisfies end-user requirements.
You will educate team members about programming and development options available and communicate with project team members and management regarding potential risks, scope changes, deliverables, and scheduling. Gather requirements from business owners and produce code that concisely satisfies those requirements.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Demonstratable development and programming skills including analysis, design, development, debugging, functional testing, understanding of Object-Oriented programming and design, understanding of SOLID principles, and ability to translate between programming languages.
- Demonstratable knowledge of life-cycle software development, continuous delivery, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Experience using C#, SQL, JavaScript, HTML and Python.
- Experience with relational and non-relational modeling, responsive web design, cloud solutions and microservice architecture.
- Experience using development and project management tools, such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, JIRA, Smartsheet, Visual Studio, Django and Wrike.
- Experience with automation and workflow design and development, including robotic process automation.
- Ability to quickly learn, understand, and utilize new skills and tools, including additional programming languages, and design and development tools.
- Solid attention to detail, organizational skills and documentation habits. Able to write clear, concise and accessible code and documentation.
- Self-motivated with experience identifying and communicating enhancements and incremental changes to stakeholders.
- Ability to manage and contribute to multiple projects concurrently.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally through written and verbal communications.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Two-year college degree or certification from an accredited program or equivalent work experience and technical training that demonstrates programming and development skills, knowledge, and technical competence. Minimum of five years programming and development experience required.
