Description:

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • Proficiency with at least one modern language, such as Java, Javascript, Python, C#, or C++
  • Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
  • Familiarity with professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing and operations

    The AWS Marketing Global Demand & Operations (GDO) Engineering team is seeking a seasoned full-stack software engineer to build the future with us. In GDO, we learn from our customers, understand their needs, and educate them on the benefits of AWS and the services we offer. We are running a strategic project which leverages artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) to transform the traditional customer engagement into a personalized experience that makes it easy to onboard prospects and customers onto the AWS Cloud.
    A successful Software Development Engineer II (SDE 2) in our team needs to be entrepreneurial, able to deal with ambiguity, and work in a highly collaborative environment. You are expected to design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality, maintainable software that solves new and difficult problems. You are able to troubleshoot failures and prevent them from reappearing. You will contribute across the software stack, including back end services, front end components, and applied machine learning.

Seattle, WA, USA

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Experience with NoSQL databases
  • Experience with a modern front end framework such as React, Angular, or Vue
  • Experience with AWS technologies
  • Ability to work both independently on ambiguous problems and in highly collaborative team environments
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
