JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a member of the AOSQE, the Software Development Engineer in Test will provide manual and automated testing services and quality assurance activities throughout the systems development life cycle for agile projects.
This role is focused on Group Retirement Services Web application delivery in an Agile team and requires an experienced candidate who can design and develop Manual and Automated testing for functional, regression and technical tests.

Preferred skills

  • Experience with Cucumber, Selenium, Appium, JUnit, JMeter, TestNG, Jenkins, ReadyAPI, HP ALM/qTest, Mobile Center (or equivalent)
  • Tricentis Tosca knowledge and experience is an asset
  • Programming experience in Java
  • Internet technologies, web services, SOAP, XSL/XSLT, API
  • Git, Scrum, Jira, CA Service Virtualization or other agile tools
  • Knowledge of DevOps, continuous integration and delivery concepts, specifically continuous testing
  • Knowledge of TDD, ATDD and/or BDD

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience, including development and/or quality automation experience & web and/or mobile testing
  • Related University Degree or College Diploma
  • Solid understanding and experience in Agile test automation frameworks and approaches
  • Knowledge in financial services and insurance industry
  • CSTE certification (or equivalent) is an asset

Responsibilities:

  • Working as part of Group Retirement Services (GRS) Agile team to deliver/regression test GRS applications/features/fixes
  • Champion and advocate automation and quality within the Agile team
  • Creation and maintenance of repeatable test ware including:
  • Regression models and automation scripts
  • Training documentation
  • Track QA progress and provide analysis & metrics on the QE Development effort
  • Log and track detailed product defects
    The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
