Description:
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

We are looking for experienced Software Engineers to be a key contributor to our success and drive the strategic development of the Transportation Optimization services.

Responsibilities:
- Design and build large-scale, highly distributed systems solving complex problems for the Amazon supply chain business
- Interact with business stakeholders and other technology teams while building innovating software solutions and laying the software foundation for supporting many new business initiatives for years to come.
- Work on a wide variety of technologies with strong group of engineers.
- Build large scale systems in a fast paced environment that are efficient, highly performant and scalable.
- Develop junior team members into strong SDEs and helping them grow in the role.
- Define technological roadmap for team and work with senior leaders to execute on it.
Proficiency in an Object-oriented Design is a must. Experience in working in a Unix/Linux environment is highly desired. Experience with SQL, Perl and Ruby is a big plus.

About the team
We are part of the Fulfillment Optimization org in SCOT and own the representation of the worldwide outbound transportation network to guide Amazon’s Promise and Fulfillment decisions. The team is currently spread across Bellevue (WA), Austin (TX), and Vancouver (BC, Canada).
We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary for this position ranges from $150,700/year up to $251,700/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
