Computershare has a fantastic opportunity for a Software Development Manager to join our Global Plans Development team.
We are looking for a dynamic & ambitious Software Development Leader to join our team, bringing new and fresh ideas to help challenge the status quo. As part of the Global Plans business, this is an exciting role and perfect for someone who is looking to move from hands-on line management to a where you can own/direct and make a difference.
The overall department is located across Bristol, Edinburgh, Zurich, US and Pune. You will bring some strong leadership into the Edinburgh location, being a key influencer in our global leadership team.

Some other key skills that you’ll have:

  • Experience as a Manager/Team Leader working with development teams across the full software development lifecycle, ideally within an enterprise context.
  • Significant level of experience in an application development across the full SDLC.
  • Experience in an Agile development and/or DevOps environment, embracing the adoption and continuous improvement of practices including (but not limited to) automation, continuous integration and continuous delivery.
  • Excellent leadership skills – sets direction, builds consensus, and shares a vision and values. Motivates & empowers employees. Leads effectively through change and adversity.
  • Excellent management skills – organising work and resources, planning and setting priorities, delegating effectively, timely monitoring and performance management.
  • Experience of setting and facilitating the execution of progression plans for ambitious and high potential individuals in their team
  • Experience of stakeholder management – building confidence, setting expectations and meeting commitments to increase customer satisfaction

Responsibilities:

A ROLE YOU WILL LOVE

As our Software Development Manager, you would be working on one of the main strategic projects for the company, building a market leading Plans platform. A long-term/large scale project, initially focusing on migrating our clients onto our Global Platform (EMEA/ASIA/US), then moving into working on cutting edge product functionality.
Not only do we have a large multi-domain core platform we are also building an update version of our Mobile application as well as driving our Business Intelligence offerings.
As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role leading several development team leads, where you will act as a mentor and give direction while supporting the Head of Engineering in department wide objectives.

OTHER KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitating delivery of high-quality software solutions that are both stable and resilient.
  • Working collaboratively with key stakeholders across the business.
  • Focusing on innovation, quality, and productivity to uplift the delivery capability.
  • Working closely with the Head of Software Development and Head of Engineering to bring new ideas to the department.Coaching and mentoring members of the team at all levels to drive personal growth.
