WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for a passionate and creative Software Development Team Lead to help us grow to the next level. Someone with a passion for technical innovation, driven, an innovator looking to make a profound impact across our industry, our organisation and our development team.

We are looking for you to bring to the role:

  • Proven Leadership experience and ability to build a team through internal and external resources
  • Experience in application development and responsive UI design.
  • Experience with Microsoft ASP, C#, MSSQL, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, CSS, Sass, Vue.js, Nuxt framework, bootstrap, google for analytics (G4A), HTML, Containerisation via Docker and version control with Git/Github
  • A scrum and agile mindset
  • Experience with Restful APIs, and integrations with 3rd party solutions.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining a test automation strategy and plan.
  • Experience working with Windows Servers, networking and VMWare.
  • A background working with mobile app test tools and testing.
  • Exposure to SaaS architectures, ElasticSearch and data analytics.
  • Ability to understand frameworks, ensuring the best architecture decisions are made and are feasible for the team

Responsibilities:

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

This newly created role reports to the Director of Product and Technology, you’ll be directly responsible for leading a full-stack team of software developers and testers (internal and external resources). You’ll manage people and their work to help drive the team forward and have a strategic impact across many teams and be able to tackle deep technical problems.
This is a hands-on role, and as such, you are a contributor to both core projects, as well as side and experimental work. You give technical direction, leadership, and guidance to your team, to produce better outcomes.

As well as:

  • Using a Scrum Agile delivery model, you’ll plan and organise day-to-day work for the team.
  • You’ll help the team define develop, deploy and maintain features
  • Build a high-performance culture - leading, coaching, guiding, and inspiring your development and QA teams
  • Collaborate with Product Management on product roadmap, direction, and technical innovation.
  • Build and support a scrum agile delivery model through your teams, with adherence to all ceremonies, systems and documentation use. Ensuring delivery to iterative releases using CI/CD, automated testing, and other agile best practices.
  • Translating requirements and direction into architectural designs directly and through your team, taking into consideration workflows, responsive UI, performance, scalability, and extensibility.
  • Give actionable metrics and insights into the performance of the engineering team
  • Drive the design, implementation, and delivery of new functionality to meet business requirements.
  • Driving product quality by following software development best practices.
  • Ensuring the creation of all documentation and artefacts to the extent that all Dev., QA, Tech Writers, and Support can understand the implementation.

Salary: $115,000 - $125,000 CAD p/a
