Description:

As a Software Development Team Leader, you contribute to the delivery of high-quality software that meets the business requirements, in such a way that the cost of future enhancements remains under control. This to ensure that a stable and robust Isabel environment is available with minimal risk of data being compromised. Concretely:

  • Deliver software conform to the functional and non-functional (security) requirements.
  • Assist with the refinement of the requirements.
  • Adhere to the software architecture including the security guidelines provided.
  • Improve processes (ticket follow-up, reporting to management, facts-based data gathering, team organization, make sure all meetings add value, …)
  • Create/participate in design documents as part of the agreed project deliverables.
  • Apply industry standard & IT SF best practices as it pertains to the development and integration of own and COTS software.
  • Make sure all new development and code changes are covered by unit tests.
  • When modifying existing code, consider refactoring taking into account relevancy and risk.
  • Participate in and lead resolution of bugs and incidents when they occur and this till a final solution has been identified.
  • If required, participate in Bid Management to allow Isabel to propose tailored solutions.
  • Use and implement Isabel’s processes on software delivery, the SDLC policy in particular, to analyse, design, develop and test software

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

As a Software Development Team Leader, you:

  • Manage a software development team.
  • Ensure that the team have or are able to acquire the different skills to work independently as a cross-functional feature team
  • Maintain a productive, motivating working environment for the development team and ensure a professional and constructive communication style and collaboration within the team.
  • Provide status reporting of team activities against the projects to the management and stakeholders and keep them informed of task accomplishment, issues, and status.
  • Establish and stimulate software development standards and processes along with best practices for delivery of scalable and high-quality software.
  • Coach, motivate and define and monitor concrete and measurable objectives.
  • Set personal development targets and follow up with the team member.
  • Supervise resource allocation to assure attainment of business and personnel development goals, estimating and tracking the workload of the resources for the execution of tasks, and ensuring that the necessary resources are available at the right time, with the adequate skills, in order to deliver in a timely and effective manner.
  • Contribute to salary and performance reviews. Recommend promotions, job rotation, and succession planning & play an active role in hiring new resources.
