Description:

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

You must have:

  • At least 3 years of experience in creating applications using Java and related technologies
  • At least 3 years of experience with Spring and Hibernate
  • Experience with relational databases, ie MySQL or Postgres
  • Experience with JavaScript
  • Experience in Agile development
  • Experience with unit testing

It would also be beneficial to have:

  • Experience with Docker or containers
  • Experience with cloud-based services, i.e., AWS, Azure, GCP
  • Experience with IaC, i.e., Ansible, Terraform, Helm, etc
  • Experience with CI/CD, i.e., Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab, etc

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

The ideal candidate for this role is someone who is passionate about building quality applications and wants to be part of our development community to help drive continuous improvement to quality and efficiency. You will be an integral part of the team helping build our products for a range of global customers.
This will be a hybrid role after a successful few weeks’ induction at the Bristol Office. There will be a need to visit the office, on a regular basis, and you should be willing to attend when required.
Please note this role is fixed term for 14 months.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborating with the team to identify and fix technical issues
  • Actively control technical debt
  • Promote and contribute to controlling code quality assurance
  • Escalations of any security or technical issues to your Technical Lead
  • Proactive discussion with key stakeholders to develop a technical strategy
  • Support for other engineers
