THE TEAM
We’re diving into in-house software development at Volvo Cars, especially in the High Performance Platform department. Our mission? Building the next-gen high-performance in-vehicle compute cluster. Picture this: a platform that hosts all sorts of vehicle applications, from basic state machines to super advanced safety and autonomous drive features. Cool, right? And guess what? This cluster will be the backbone of our future electric and self-driving Volvo models.
QUALIFICATIONS
We’re looking for someone proactive, ambitious, and eager to learn. You’ve got a knack for problem-solving and thrive in a team environment. Plus, you’re all about taking ownership and getting things done.
- Bachelor or Masters degree within a related engineering field
- Good knowledge in C++ and/or C
- An understanding of RTOS and object-oriented design
- Excellent English communication skills
Also it is a big plus if you also know a bit about:
- Software functional safety (ISO26262)
- Software quality
Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU’LL DO
You’ll be part of the team developing the Base Software Platform (BSP) for the Core Computer. Essentially, we’re giving our vehicles the brains they need to run smoothly and safely. We work fast and flexibly, adapting to changes on the fly. Plus, we get to play with some seriously cool tech from NVIDIA, including hypervisors, Linux, QNX, and more.
Your job? Define functions, create solutions, and ensure everything is safe and reliable. Think refining requirements, designing software architecture, and writing top-notch code. Oh, and did I mention you’ll be working in a collaborative, cross-functional team? Because you will be!
