WHAT SKILLS YOU NEED

• Experience with AWS, React, Python, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with Agile and secure coding best practices.
• Proven experience as a Software Engineer solving moderately complex problems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and focused on correcting and remedying root cause.

EDUCATION

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a Technology related discipline; others may apply.
• Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Software Engineer within the Cyber Security team for John Deere located in Ames and/or Johnston, IA, you will:

• Operate within a full stack agile team that designs and develops solutions aimed at the aggregation, storage, and reporting of identified security vulnerabilities.
• Mentor junior team members based out of the Ames location and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Demonstrate creativity in identifying solutions to problems.
• Perform technical peer reviews of front and back-end code.
